- In 1995 he graduated Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Western European Languages and Literature. Is a Master of Arts in German Studies and Philosophy from the University of Saarbrücken
- In 1998 he worked at the German Foreign Policy Institute
- 1999-2002 Higher Education, Publishing, Media Program Coordinator and PR Manager in Open Society Georgia Foundation
- Founder of television publicizm on Georgian television. He is the author of dozens of publicist letters in Georgian newspapers.
- In 2002 he joined Zurab Zhvania’s team and became the general secretary of the United Democrats. He was actively involved in the protest movement that ended with the Rose Revolution.
- Was member of the first post-revolutionary government – Minister of Culture. At his initiative were established the National Museum and the Faculty of Restoration-Conservation, more than 700 monuments were restored, Georgia was presented for the first time at the Venice Biennale and the
- Georgian Gold Fund was exhibited for the first time in the world.
- In 2008-2012 he was Chairman of the Culture Committee in the Parliament of Georgia.
- In 2012-2016, he was Chairman of the largest opposition faction, the United National Movement and one of the main speakers of the opposition.
- From 2017 to 2021 Chairman of the faction “European Georgia” in Tbilisi City Council.
- Over the years, with his direct participation and leadership, was carried out the strategic planning of the election campaigns for the Western orientation parties and implementation of this strategics.
